Funeral services for Mrs. Jesse Gulley, a resident of Grundy County all her life, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Baptist church in Edinburg of which she was a member. The Rev. J.B. Cash was assisted by the Rev F.S. Johnson in conducting the rites.
Music was furnished by Mrs. E. M. Gardner who sang "God's Tomorrow" and "Lord As Thou Wilt." Mrs. Willard Payne played the accompaniment.
Pallbearers were Willie Warren, Carl Boriff, Tom Sharp, Phil Gulley, Morris Gulley, and Orville Collins. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Edinburg.
Mrs. Gulley was born Oct. 27, 1869 in Grundy County, the daughter of P.R. and Amelia Smith Fowler.
She was married June 12, 1892, to S.T. Alderson, who later died. They were the parents of three children, one dying in infancy.
On Mar. 3, 1921, she was married to Jesse Gulley who died in December, 1943.
Mrs. Gulley leaves two children, a son, Raymond Alderson, at whose home she died, and a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Sharp of Lawrence, Kan.; two brothers, E.W. and B.C. Fowler of Pittsburg, Kan.; eight grandchildren; three nephews and three nieces.
