Mr. John W. Richards, 81 years of age, died Wednesday, August 8, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Harris, on Fair Grounds Street. He had been in declining health for some time but had been confined to his bed only a week when the end came.
Mr. Richards was a native of Russell County but had lived here many years. His wife died fifteen years ago and his only surviving close relative was a sister, Mrs. Perry Lovelace, of Russell Springs.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Columbia Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. B.B. Hilburn. Interment was in the City Cemetery.
