Maxene O. Hermanson, 89 ESCONDIDO -- Maxene O. Hermanson of Lincoln, Nebr., passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Maxene was the eighth of nine children born to Frederick and Helena (Schafer) Endorf on February 6, 1921 in Campbell, Nebraska. After high school, Maxene taught school and helped her father run the general store in Campbell. She married Donald W. Hermanson on September 10, 1943 and from this union three children were born. Upon retirement, Maxene and her husband moved to San Diego and were one of the founding members of Escondido Community Lutheran Church. In recent years, she has resided in Lincoln at the Legacy Estates to be nearer to family and friends. Maxene is survived by her sons, Don Hermanson and his wife, Jo of Lincoln; Jeffrey Hermanson and his wife, Sondra of Lincoln; and daughter, Kristin Hermanson of Petaluma, Calif. She is also survived by grandchildren, Donny Hermanson, Matt Hermanson and his wife, Sue, Timothy Hermanson, Adrianne and her husband, Josh Aksamit, Brianne and her husband, Zach Wentz, Jonathan Hermanson, Cariannne Hermanson; and step- grandchild, James Restau. Maxene had three great- grandchildren, Mia Hermanson, Logan Aksamit, and Peyton Aksamit. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Frederick, Henry, Reuben; and sisters, Helen, Lydia, Caroline, Gertrude, and Barbara; and grandson, Benjamin Hermanson. Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2788 Franklin Street, Lincoln, Nebr., with Rev. Verdell Schramm officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 from 12-8 p.m., at Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home 5200 "R" Street, Lincoln, Nebr., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Inurnment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Music Dept. at Community Lutheran Church, 3575 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, California. 92027. Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home in Lincoln Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
