Mrs. Florence Pettit Canfield, 69, of Elkins, died January 18, 1985 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. She was born April 5, 1915 in Crosses, the daughter of Robert T. and Tennie Mae Faubus Anderson. She was a homemaker and a former school teacher. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Elkins Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo Harriman; one son, Bob L. Pettit of Lincoln; two brothers, T.C. Anderson and F.M. (Jack) Anderson of Elkins; three sisters, Mrs. Ava A. Gray and Mrs. Melba A. Turner of Fayetteville and Mrs. Constance England of Alvin, Texas; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were Tuesday, January 22 at Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville with Leland Couch officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Crosses.

Pallbearers were Alan Robbins, John N. Faubus, Jimmy A. Faubus, George Robbins, Steve Ritchie and Gerald Harriman.
