Carrie, daughter of James and Sarah Shannon, was born March 1, 1871 in Mt. Erie. She died at her daughter, Mrs. Walter Corry, in Flora March 3. She marriage Elder George W. Jones of Johnsonville on July 2, 1893 in Johnsonville. They had seven children. Her husband died about 1907. She was again married to Thomas E. Griffith March 26, 1909. They had three sons. This companion died October 2, 1942. The oldest son, Curtis Jones, gave his life in France October 21, 1918. Others preceding her in death were: two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Griffith, her parents, two brothers, W. A. Shannon of Washington and Felix of Mt. Erie and one sister, Matilda Crews of Eureka Springs, Ark. She leaves two daughters and four sons: Mrs. Wm Crain of Salem.
