SALEM - Elsie Aeschlimann passed away on September 21, 2010, at the age of 84. She was born July 18, 1926, in Salem to Edwin and Marie (Fliegel) Furrer. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Elsie married Arno Aeschlimann on October 10, 1954. at Christ Lutheran Church. Elsie was a member of Christ The Good Shepard Lutheran Church. She was very involved in church activities and women's organizations including TOPS. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, reading, birds and tole painting. Elsie was a great friend to many. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Arno in 1990. She is survived by her sons, Bill Aeschlimann of Camden, Del., and Eric Aeschlimann of Salem; two granddaughters, Caitlyn (Angelo) Schiraldi of Rapid City, S.D., and Lisette (Rick) Aeschlimann of Hawaii; great-grandson, Ronan Schiraldi of Rapid City, S.D.; brother-in-law, Warner (Martha) Aeschlimann of Salem; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Those who wish may contribute to Christ The Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 581 Lancaster Dr. SE #286, Salem, OR 97317. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Belcrest Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m., at Christ The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4440 State Street, Salem. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
