He attended prep school at West Nottingham Academy and later attended both Stetson University and Gettysburg College. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany in 1957.
After his discharge from the Army he and his brother and father operated Norma's Windmill Restaurant in St. Augustine. Mr. Myers later worked at Dobbs' Brothers Library Book Bindery for many years, starting out in the stamping department and later as a salesman.
In 1986 until his retirement in 2006 he was employed by Munford Library Book Co. in Jacksonville, Fla., as a salesman.
Mr. Myers was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday May 10, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev. David J. Weidner, Rector, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.m. Friday May 9, 2008 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory (Kotrady-Hudgins-Croyle Funeral Home), 385 S.R. 207. For directions, please call 824-1625.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Myers, nee Kamphenkel; sons, Barry W. Myers, Jr., Alan Myers and his wife, Diana; daughter, Kelly Lynn Hall, nee, Myers, and her husband, Boe; four grandchildren, Katie Hall, Kevin Hall, Brooke Myers, and Cheyne Carter; a sister, Mary Susanna Myers; and several nieces and nephews, all of St. Augustine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Virginia Myers, one sister Virginia Christine (Nicky) Manucy, and two brothers, John Allan Myers and Peter Norman Myers.
