Barry Wescott Myers, Sr., 73, of St. Augustine, died May 5, 2007, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Mr. Myers was born in Springfield, Mass., on June 11, 1934. He attended primary schools in both St. Augustine, Fla., and Salem, N.J. and graduated from Woodstown High School in Woodstown, N.J., in 1953.
He attended prep school at West Nottingham Academy and later attended both Stetson University and Gettysburg College. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany in 1957.
After his discharge from the Army he and his brother and father operated Norma's Windmill Restaurant in St. Augustine. Mr. Myers later worked at Dobbs' Brothers Library Book Bindery for many years, starting out in the stamping department and later as a salesman.
In 1986 until his retirement in 2006 he was employed by Munford Library Book Co. in Jacksonville, Fla., as a salesman.
Mr. Myers was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday May 10, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev. David J. Weidner, Rector, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
