Hooker, the grandfather of Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker, was an artist & member of the Royal Academy.

He claimed to be descended from Secretary of Ireland who was a contributor to Hollingshed's chronicles, and was of the same family of which Richard Hooker, author of the "Esslesiastical Polity" was a member. He was the only surviving son of Joseph Hooker, Esq of Exeter. Sir William Jackson Hooker.
