WEST POINT, Ill. -- William Thomas Markey, 72, of Wenatchee, Wash., formerly of West Point-Bowen area died Dec. 29, 1979, in a hospital in Walla Walla.
Mr. Markey was born Feb. 28, 1907, in West Point. He married Eunice Mathews, June 10, 1931, in Bowen. They farmed in Illinois until moving to Chelan, Wash., in 1934. Mr. Markey was in orchard work until 1949 when he moved to Wenatchee, where he owned and operated an orchard until retiring five years ago. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Wenatchee.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, William C. Markey of Wenatchee and Dennis J. Markey of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Snyder of Wenatchee; two brothers, John of Quincy and Carroll of Bowen; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Wittom and Mrs. Hilda Wingent, both of Quincy; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Betts Funeral home in Wenatchee.
