Glenn Albrecht, 93, of Norborne, MO, died at 12:20 a.m., on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO. Mr. Albrecht was born July 13, 1917 in Norborne to Anthony and Anna (Wagner) Albrecht. He married Norma C. "Judy" Craig of Norborne on February 17, 1943; she survives, of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Dennis Wayne Albrecht and his companion, Mary Green of Norborne, and David Joseph Albrecht and his wife, Betty of Sedalia, MO; two daughters, Nancy Ruth Coe and her husband, John of Kansas City, MO, and Mary Demark and her husband, Tom of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Lois Stotts of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Lee Sims; two brothers, Virgil Albrecht and Leonard Albrecht; and four sisters, Mary Lucille Henderson, Lenora Henderson, Ella Mae Albrecht and Norma Mae Albrecht. Mr. Albrecht was a farmer. He lived all of his life in Norborne. He was a member of the Norborne Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and Midwest Tool Association. He loved to dance and play cards. He was an avid hammer and tool collector collecting for over 30 years. He had over 4000 different hammers. His collection had been featured on a T.V. program and people from all over the world had stopped to view his collection. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Norborne Lions Club or the Norborne Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 25, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, MO. Visitation will be Friday, September 24, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO, where rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. prior to the visitation. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Norborne, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
