Anthony V.M. Bargas of La Pine died May 28 of natural causes. He was 96.

No services are planned.

Mr. Bargas was born March 11, 1908, in San Jose, Calif., to Anthony and Adelaide (Spagnoli) Bargas. He attended Heald Business College in Oakland, Calif., and married C. Catherine Downer on Feb. 11, 1959, in Reno, Nev.

Mr. Bargas worked as a psychiatric technician.

He attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Redmond and the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in La Pine. He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife of La Pine; a son, Anthony of Springfield; a daughter, Barbara Ruff of Vacaville, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Oregon Hospice, 2698 NE Courtney Dr., Bend 97701.

Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
