UNION TRACTION EMPLOYEE DEAD
Almeral Layton Bogan, age 72, chief inspector at the Union Traction Company shops, died of pneumonia today at 3 a.m. at the family home, 1619 West Fifteenth Street. Mr. Bogan was stricken ill last Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the home. Anderson Masons will be in charge. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mr. Bogan is survived by the widow, Mrs. Anna (Wyant) Bogan; three daughters, Misses Edith and Caroline Bogan, both at home; and Mrs. Bess Clark, of Madison, Wis.; three sons, Will Bogan of Knox, and Elmer and Harold Bogan, both of Anderson; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. J. H. Miller of Mendon, O., and a brother, Spencer Bogan of Frankfort.
Mr. Bogan was born at Colfax, in Clinton County, on Feb. 27, 1856. He taught school and was in the United States mail service for a number of years. He came to Anderson about eleven years ago. He was a member of the Central Christian Church and the Mt. Moriah Lodge of Masons.
