Born Feb. 2, 1927, in Philadelphia, she was the eldest daughter of the late Roosevelt and Kathleen (Fleshman) Bunty.
Corinne was retired as a self-employed beautician at JoAdrian Beauty Shop in McSherrystown. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown, AARP, Hanover Christian Women's Association and the National Guard Women's Auxiliary.
In retirement, she loved to travel to Canada, Puerto Rico, England, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy, where she received a blessing from Pope Pius XII in St. Peter's Square. She was always ready to go on bus trips, to dinner theaters, NYC Christmas Shows, mystery trips or just to go to Pittsburgh for a cup of coffee. Her favorite pastimes included ownership of numerous German Shepherds (Bruno's and Rody's), and supporting her granddaughters in all their activities.
Surviving are two sons, Michael J. Ackerman and his wife Paula of Dover, and Cyril A. Ackerman Jr. and his wife Lin of Gettysburg; three granddaughters, Megan, Lauren and Allison Ackerman; two brothers, Frederick and Rodney Bunty; and two sisters, Rebecca Swope and Patricia Hale. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip, David and Richard Bunty.
