FULTON - James Marshall Christian, 66, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at the River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. He was born June 6, 1938, in Itawamba County to Clyde Marshall and Willie Mae York Christian. He was a 1956 graduate of Itawamba Agriculture High School and a graduate of Itawamba Junior College He was a member of the Tombigbee Baptist Church in Mantachie. He was a resident of Itawamba County most all of his life until March 2002, when he moved to Brandon. He was a retired band director. He also retired from driving a bus at Houston Headstart. He owned and operated the Bandwagan Music Store in Tupelo. He had a green thumb for growing anything and enjoyed gardening and farming. He was an avid over of the eland, animals, and children and he enjoyed fishing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Roger Akers and Bro. Terry Paul Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Peppertown.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Christian of Brandon; his mother, Willie Mae Christian of Fulton; three sons, Christopher James Marshall Christian of Flowood, Matthew Clyde Christian and Noel Boyce Christian, both of Brandon; two daughters, Theresa Sheffield and husband, Mickey, of Tupelo, and Cindy Kelly and husband, Terry, of Saltillo; one step-son, Richard A. Wooden and wife, Melinda, of Hullet, Wyoming; one step-daughter, Beth Newman and husband, Brian, of Guntown; one sister, Selma Clyde Beane of Fulton; his mother-in-law, Mildred E. Dunlap of Guntown; two sisters-in-law, Eva Ibarra of Guntown and Janie Riccuiti and husband, Jim, of Wanesburg, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Michael Kelly, Morgan Kelly, Preston Sheffield, Mark-Alan Sheffield, Gaije Fike, Barkley Fike, Bronson Newman, Leslie Wooten and Brandon Wooten.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Christian; his brother-in-law, David C. Beane; and his father-in-law, Boyce H. Dunlap.

Pallbearers will be David Beane, Ben Beane, Tom Beane, Alan Bane, Will Beane, John David Beane, Mack Beane and Jordan Lesley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Tombigbee Baptist Church and all his friends at McRae's.

Visitation will be from 7 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
