Major Gad Warriner, son of Hezekiah and Mary, was born in what is now [1898] Agawam, then part of Springfield, Mass., March 1, 1758; married Eunice Worthington. She was born in 1764, and died May 23. 1820, aged 56. Gad Warriner married, 2d, Miss Phelps. No children by second wife. He died May 19, 1842, aged 84, and was buried in Agawam, where his tombstone may be seen. He was prominent in town affairs, serving as selectman for a number of years. He was a member of the Mass. Legislature from Springfield in 1805 and 1809, and from West Springfield, 1814, 1815. He lived in a house next to the horse ferry in West Springfield, as shown on a map printed in 1831. Reuel Warriner was his nearest neighbor. The Gad Warriner homestead is in good repair, and is owned and occupied (1898) by Elijah D. Abbee.
