Mary Elizabeth Shadow, 95 years of age, died of senility, at the home of her son W.R. Shadow, who lives on the Dubberly road. The deceased passed away Sunday, January 19, after an illness of one week.

The deceased was born November 21, 1840, in Ohio and has been a resident of Webster parish for the past five years. She was married to Michael J. Shadow, December 23, 1855 in Avilla, Indiana and leaves the following children by this union: W.R. Shadow, Minden, La.; P.A. Shadow, Minden, La., A.G. Shadow, Wartburg, Tenn., and Ellen Shadow, Winchester, Tenn. There are eight deceased children. Mrs. Shadow was a devout Christian woman and was a member of the Dunkard religion, a branch of the Methodist church, and will be remembered as one of the oldest citizens living in the parish.

Funeral services were held at the Butler Funeral home's chapel by Rev. H.E. Kirkpatrick at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 19, and the body was shipped to Winchester, Tennessee, her former home, for interment.
