Newburn Francis Appling , 77, of the 2000 block of Queen Victoria Court, a retired master mariner, died Dec. 31, 1990, in a hospital.
Mr. Appling was a native of Jefferson County, Ala. He was a member of Master Mason Pilots Union.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Appling , and a son, Wilbur Appling of Alabama.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, by the Rev. George I. Paulson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk.
