From the Palmer Journal, July 25, 1935, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney:

C. E. Rusmisell and family drove to Mason City early Sunday morning, called there by the serious illness of Mr. Rusmisell's father who passed away Sunday evening as the result of heart disease and complications. He was 72 years old.

Funeral services were held at Mason City Wednesday forenoon. The deceased is survived by his widow, two sons and a daughter. One son, Ralph, has been confined in a hospital at Broken Bow for the past year due to a broken leg that did not heal properly. The daughter, Mrs. Lou Perrin, resides in Colorado.

W. C. Rusmisell was a native of Tazwell county, Illinois, came to Mason City in 1886 and tok charge of the first grain elevator erected in the village. He was postmaster during Cleveland's and Wilson's administrations, and also had been engaged in stock shipping and farming.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the Rusmisell family in this time of sorrow, by their many friends in this community.
