He married Emma Jane Jones on 01 Jan 1893 at Edgewood.
At the time of the 1910 and 1920 census, the family lived in Cedar Rapids where he was a building contractor/house carpenter.
By 1925 the family was farming in Elk Township, Delaware County, Iowa
According to an obituary that appeared in the Dubuque Telegraph Herald on 02 Sep 1949, he was also an ordained minister and founded the Church of God in Cedar Rapids. He died at his home in Edgewood.
