Funeral services were last Wednesday at Springdale Community Church, with the Rev. Sonny Clemmer officiating, for longtime Springdale farmer Walter A. Dixon, 84, who died March 31 in Spokane.
Born July 15, 1905 in Almira, Wash., he married Agnes Olen Jan. 30, 1937, in Davenport, Wash. The couple moved to Springdale in 1946.
He served on the Mary Walker School Board and drove a school bus for many years.
Mr. Dixon, who enjoyed raising horses, was a member of the Camas Valley Grange.
He is survived by five sons, one daughter, one sister, 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His wife died June 19, 1987.
