Martha Burk was born in South Bend, Indiana on June 14, 1884 [sic] and died at her home in Clifton, Kansas on December 16, 1922 at the age of 78 years, six months and two days. She came to this country in the year 1888 and had since made Clifton her home. Mrs Burk was converted when a small girl and united with the United Brethren church but when she came to Kansas she united with the Rusco church and was a member of that church at the time of her death. Mrs Burk leaves no family but a host of friends. Funeral services were held Monday, December 18 by Rev Ashley Rookstool of Clifton and interment made in the Rusco Cemetery.
