George N. Jamerson, 68, a Muncie resident since 1945, died at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Wednesday after an extended illness.
He had worked mostly as a jewelry salesman, but also had been employed at two clothing stores. In addition, he was a locally-known entertainer in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He tap danced and played the guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; his mother, Hallie Nossett; two stepdaughters, Janet Treinder, Muncie, and Doris Anne White, Indianapolis; a sister, Moneda Belleau, Muncie, and eight step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Parson Mortuary Chapel, with Rev. Gilbert Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.
