BROOKS
Final rites for James Carlton Brooks, 73,a retired farmer of the Harmony Community, were held Sunday, Feb. 7, from the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Buster Odom and Rev. Edwin Patterson officiating.
Music was by the church choir with Mrs. Betty Dewrell as accompanist. Burial was in the church cemetery with Foreman's directing. Mr. Brooks died at his residence Friday, February 5.
A native of Bullock County, Mr. Brooks moved to the Harmony Community as a youth.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Brooks, RFD 2, Andalusia; two sons, Joe F. Brooks, Fort Meade, Maryland; and Douglas W. Brooks, Opp; a daughter, Mrs. Avis Hurst, RFD 2, Andalusia; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, A.C. Brooks, RFD 2, Andalusia; two sisters, Macey Williams, Mobile; and Mrs. Lattie Adams, Opp.
Pallbearers were James, Larry, and Dennie Hurst, Donnie, Gary, and Joey Brooks.
