Malinda (Melinda) McCoy Brinegar

Parents:
Daniel McCoy III (1792-1882
Clarissa Sturgeon (1791 - ).
Malinda was one of 12 children in that marriage.
Daniel's second wife was Nancy Pedigo with which he had 6 children.
Malinda had to go and live with sister to Daniel Sara McCoy in Indiana because he had to many children to feed. Malinda was a dress maker and later married.

Indiana, Marriages, 1811-1959
marriage: 07 Oct 1856 , Brown, Indiana
marriage license: 07 Oct 1856
spouse: William D Brinegar

To this union these other children were born:

Almira A.(Brinegar) Weldon & Tipton (1858-1937) aka: Elmyra
Susan M. (Brinegar) Denny (1865- )

Malinda and William D.Brinegar both buried at the Brinegar Cemetery. William died Sept. 01, 1868 and Malinda Sept. 21, 1868 and one infant child died around the same time and buried with them.

There was either a tragic accident or illness both parents dying within a short time and leaving 4 children orphans.

I believe the children where left to be raised by their grandparents, Benjamin F. and wife Malinda Brinegar.

Children: Elmira A "Myra", Giles, Mary Addie & Susan M.
