Wife of William J. Farnham
Sarah E. Abbott, wife of William J. Farnham, passed away December 30, 1923, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Mrs. Farnham was the eldest daughter of the late Willard Abbott of South Sangerville who will be well remembered by the older residents of Dexter and vicinity. Her whole life was given in loving service to others. Ill health made her a shut-in for the last few years of her life, but thru all her life and especially during the last three months while suffering from an incurable disease her patience and cheerfulness were unfailing. Her sweet Christian character will be remembered by all who were fortunate in her acquaintance and friendship. She will be missed in the neighborhood and in the home.
She is survived by her husband, William Farnham; two daughters, Mrs. Byron Robbins of Dexter and Mrs. Sanford Bailey, of Cambridge; two sons, Herbert Farnham of Dexter and Willard Farnham who lives on the old homestead; six grandchildren, Mrs. Harvey Conley, who helped care for her in her last illness, Donald Robbins of Dexter, and the four children of her oldest daughter, Mrs. Charles L. Adams of Abbot who passed away fourteen years ago, Mrs. Ora Norton of Abbot, Mrs. Cecil Pearson of Los Angeles, Calif, Geo. and Oscar Adams of Victorville, Calif. and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the home January 1, at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. D. P. Pelley of the Dexter Methodist church conducting the services. Herbert Willard Farnham, Byron Robbins and Sanford Bailey were bearers.
