Phyllis Sue Bailey, 53, of Monticello, formerly of Brookston, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2012, which was her father's birthday, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.

She was born June 17, 1958 to Paul and Aletha (Fitzgerald) Bailey in Lafayette. She attended school at the Comprehensive Developmental Center of Monticello.

She was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church and was also a lifetime member of the Brookston American Legion Auxiliary. She had worked at the CDC Sheltered Workshop in Monticello.

Phyllis loved animals, especially cats, listening to and playing records, and enjoyed going to McDonald's for a hamburger and Coke.

Survivors include her sister; Paulette Logan (husband: Byron) of Monticello, nieces; Piper Stankard (husband: Scott) of Austin, TX, and Paige James of Monticello, and a nephew, Brady Logan of Monticello. She is also survived by 5 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents and a nephew, Blake Logan.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Rev. Tom Watt to officiate. Interment to follow in Brookston Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Comprehensive Developmental Center of Monticello.
