Eskel Oren Essary, 93, of Blacksburg, died Friday, September 17, 2010, at Marian Manor, Stafford, Va. He was born in Fentress County, Tenn. on June 2, 1917 to the late. A. Dolphus and Nancy Smith Essary. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norene Essary. He retired from Virginia Tech as Professor Emeritus in 1982 after 27 years of service. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Donald Nissen of Fredericksburg; three granddaughters, Tamara K. Delaplane and husband, Ross, Heather A. Flores and husband, Robert, Amanda L. Shuck; five great grandchildren, Jackson, Jared, Tristan, Ethan, and Payton. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
