ALVIN J. BELDEN, 33, member of a prominent Syracuse family, was listed as among those killed in the crash of the ill-fated DC-6 at Dallas this morning.
Mr. Belden was accounting manager at the Mexican City office of the New York firm of Arthur W. Anderson & Co.
He was a son of Mrs. Natalie Belden of 414 Douglas St., widow of Arthur Belden.
MR. BELDEN had been on a combined two-week business and vacation trip and was in Syracuse all of last week to pass the Thanksgiving holiday with his family.
Mr. Belden was a member of the class of 1938, College of Business Administration, Syracuse University, and following graduation became affiliated with the Anderson concern.
HE SERVED as a first sergeant with an evacuation hospital unit in the European Theater of Operations and following honorable discharge he resumed his affiliation with the accounting firm. He had been stationed in Mexico City about two years. On the Hill Mr. Belden was a member of Phi Psi fraternity.
Surviving, besides his mother, are two brothers, Robert Belden and Arthur Belden of Lancaster, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. Stephen B. Brooks, Jr., of York Harbor, Me.
