Frederick L. Quinn was born in 1932 in Marion, Indiana. In 1965 he was in a traffic accident and lived just three days. He was a Muncie city fireman and joined the department July 12, 1956. He was stationed at #1 station and had been a driver at #3 station for several years. Mr. Quinn's car was being repaired and he accepted a ride with an acquaintance, John C Sollars, 30 R R 7 when his car collided with a truck on Cornbread Road east of Yorktown. Sollars was killed instantly and Quinn, Thomas G.Hyatt, 53, 604 E. 13th and Thomas C. Farrell, 46, 2507 were injured. Quinn and Hyatt were taken to St. Francis Hospital and Farrell to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mr. Quinn attended Central High School. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Delaware Post 19, American Legion, the 40 and 8, and VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Eunice, a daughter, Kimberly of another marriage and his 10 day old son, Michael Patrick. His mother Mrs. Catherine Quinn died last August 6. Services will be at 8: a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr Emil A. Schweier officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Callers will be received at the Meeks Mortuary from 7-9 o'clock Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at the mortuary at 7:30.
