Henderson, Kentucky — Altha Gipson, 90, died Monday, January 3, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She attended Hyland Baptist Church. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Betty Cannon of Indianapolis; four stepsons, Will of Naples, Florida, Bailey of St. Petersburg, Florida, Joe of Greenwood and Harlan of Plainfield [mistakenly in obituary as Plainville], Indiana; two sisters, Lillian Chandler and Louise Yates, both of Henderson; stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Wilson, died in 1994. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
She was a daughter of Boss and May Stone.
