EATON DEMOCRAT, Thursday, May 8, 1884: "Charles Baker, after a long illness of consumption, died at his home new Hew Hope on Sunday night last, aged about 35 years. He was a K. of H. of the Eaton Lodge, and his wife will receive a cash benefit of $2,000. He was buried in Eaton Cemetery under the supervision of the Lodge."

He was an upright citizen, a devoted and provident husband and father, and a true and pure man; therefore, RESOLVED by St. Clair Lodge, No. 1472, K. of H. of Eaton, O., that we will emulate his virtues in our conduct and cherish his memory in our hearts; that we tender the sympathy and condolence of this Lodge and of the Order of which he was a worthy member, to his bereaved family.
