EDWARD LEROY OATMAN, M.D.
Dr. Oatman died at his home in Brooklyn New York, on December 26 (sic, Dec 6), 1912. His medical education was received at Bellevue Hospital Medical College, graduating M.D. in 1879. He practiced medicine at Nyack, New York; Southford, Connecticut; Brooklyn and New York City, New York. During his professional life he was Surgeon to the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital, Brooklyn Eye and Ear Hospital, Consulting Surgeon to the Nyack, N.Y. Hospital, and St. Mary's Hospital at Waterbury, Conn. A member of the Medical Society of Kings 1899-1912, American Medical Association, and the New York Academy of Medicine. He was also a member of the Rembrandt, Brooklyn and Hamilton Clubs. He leaves a widow, Jean F. Hinman, and a daughter, Marjorie, wife of Charles S. Munson. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. John H. Melish, rector of the Holy Trinity Church.
His contributions to Medical literature are as follows: 1903—Plastic Artificial Vitreous in Mule's Operation. 1904—Epithelial Cystoma of the Conjunctiva. 1904—Etiology abd Pathology of Corneal Cysts. 1905—Cysts of the Pars Iridica Retinae.
