War of 1812 from 11 May 1812 - 4 Sept 1812 at Sacket's Harbor. New York Minutes of the Council appointments show he was Lieutenent 1810, Captain 1812, Major 1817 and Lieutenant Colonel in 1818. No further appointments are found, but the minutes end in 1821. Although no appointment has been found he was known as General and his tombstone and his wife's tombstone both state that title.
Gravestone says he died Dec. 26, 1833 while other family records say December 31, 1833. It is possible he was buried on December 31.
He married Anna Demuth and had 8 children. Anna and the younger children moved to Wisconsin in 1843. She is buried there.
The oil painting shown here was in the possession George W Robertson of Ottawa Canada at last knowledge.
