REGULAR RANGER
COMPANY M

Powell Grandberry Alley was born January 12, 1869 in Grimes County, Texas. There was no physical discription of him but his brother William stood 6ft 6inches tall, so I have an idea Powell was tall too. His father was William Thomas Alley and his mother was Tabitha Jane Kelly. He was married to Minnie Madelay in 1899 and they had six children. In 1900, he was a salesman in Montgomery County, Texas. In 1920, he worked as a railroad car repairman in Del Rio, Val Verde County. Powell was a Peace officer in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He enlisted as a REGULAR RANGER December 13, 1917 and served until March 15, 1919, as a Private in company M. He was honorably discharded when Company M was disbanded on March 10, 1919. He applied unsucessfully, for reinlistment on June 24, 1919. Powell Granberry Alley died February 29, 1948 in Harris County, Texas.
