William S. Stillwell, age 80 years, died yesterday morning at the Nayional Military Home, Leavenworth County,Kans. Mr. Stillwell was born December 29, 1844, at Vanceburg, Ky. When about seventeen years he enlisted in the Army becoming a member of Company A, 51st Regiment, Mo. Infantry and was in the Battle of Westport. He also fought under Custer during the Indian War.
Mr. Stillwell resided for a number of years at Blue Springs, Mo. The past two years prior to his illness he lived at Lake City, Mo.
Surviving Mr. Stillwell are five children; Leroy and Albert Stillwe, Lake City, Mo., George Stillwell, 928 Spruce avenue, Kansas City, Mo, Mrs. J. D. Cochran, Courtney road, Independence, William Francis Stillwell, Seattle, Wash.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 16, 2 p.m., at the Methodist Church at Blue Springs. Burial in Blue Springs Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Stahl's Funeral Home, 816 West Maple avenue, until noon Thursday.
