Funeral services for Lola Buckner, 88, of Monterey, were conducted Sunday October 12 from the Chapel of Goff FuneralHome. Rev. Raymond Phillips officiated with interment in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Mrs.Buckner passed away Friday, October 10, at the Standing Stone Health Care Center in Monterey. Mrs. Buckner was born January 7, 1909 in Clifty, TN to the late Joseph and Mary Dyer Blaylock. Mrs. Buckner was a member of the Monterey Hosiery Mill, a cook in the Monterey area working many places that include the Dairy Queen and both elementary and the high school in Monterey. She is survived by five daughters, Alma Garrett, Henrietta Langford and Edna Rae Welch, all of Monterey, Mabel Woolbright of Crossville and Evelyn Morrow of Springfield, one son, Ed Carson Buckner Jr. of Monterey, two sisters roby Frazier and Viney Lawson, both of Pleasant Hill, 23 grand-children and a host of great grand-children and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Carson Buckner Sr. Goff Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
