Gravestone was hard to read. Buried next to his 2nd wife Anna Eliza Muhlenberg.
At least two lengthy obituaries were published in the Lancaster, PA newspapers on 6 Jul 1867 and funeral notice was published on 8 Jul 1867.
Frederick Muhlenberg was born 14 Mar 1795, in Lancaster, Pa. Youngest son of Rev. Dr. Henry Ernest G. Muhlenburg, [father was a Botanist, and was a Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church from 1780 to his decease in 1815].
Frederick Muhlenberg studied medicine with Dr. Benjamin Rush, of Philadelphia, he graduated with high honors at the University of PA on 9 Apr 1814. Commenced practicing medicine at the age of nineteen, having his office in his father's residence, then the parsonage, now occupied as a law office by Newton Lightner, esq. He practiced for over fifty years, until his death.
Obituary lists his lengthy medical and other offices he held. He was a volunteer in the war of 1812.
