Andrew was called "Wee Andy" because of his low stature. Early in life when he was less than 12 years of age he was held captive by the Tories for a short while during the Revolutionary War. This took place early in October 1780 while General Ferguson's army was passing through Rutherford County near the Miller homestead on his way to King's Mountain, North Carolina. -- Essential facts from "Draper's Kings Mountain and It's Heroes", pp 204-206.
Anna and Andrew settled on a plantation his father gave him on Mountain Creek adjoining his older brother John. Records show that he was at the sale of his father-in-law's estate November 18, 1822. Among the items he purchased was as sorrell horse for $71.00. He was a successful farmer. They were Presbyterians. Buried at the old family cemetery (Twitty-Miller) Near his dwelling, four miles southwest of Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
He left will recorded in book E. pp 19, 20, and 21, Rutherford County, Rutherfordton, NC.
