Industrial Mishap Claims Ex-Borgan
DEER PARK, Tex. (UPI)-Eldon E. Sample, 31, of (3106 Carter St.) Pasadena apparently suffocated Sunday after falling into a tank of resin at the Shell Chemical Co. refinery.
Sheriff's deputies said Sample, a refinery employee, was last seen looking into the top of the 30-foot tank. A fellow worker found him eight feet down in the tank.
Another employee with a gas mask was lowered through the fumes and he pulled out Sample's body.
The former Borger man is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Sample, 210 N. Harvey.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters; his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services are pending in Pasadena.
