"NILES - Albert G. Wadel, 79, of 930 S. 23rd St., South Bend, died in his home Sunday morning after a two-year illness. He was a former Studebaker Corp. employee, retiring 14 years ago.

He was born July 23, 1891 in Niles, and moved to South Bend from Gary. On July 15, 1918 in Chicago, he married Edith Littlewood, who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Donald Carter of South Bend. Mr. Wadel was a Past Commander of Knights Templar of Niles.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Pifer Funeral Home, Niles, with Rev. Vincent Anderson, pastor of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery where Masonic services will be conducted at graveside by St. Joseph Lodge 4, Niles. Friends may call after noon Tuesday."
