WILLIAM J. BLYSTONE, farmer and stock raiser, Section 9, P. O. was born and reared in Clinton County, Ind., and followed farming till 1864, when he enlisted in Co. A, Fortieth Volunteers, Indiana, and remained in active service till 1866, when he was honorably discharged and pensioned. After the war he came here and entered the present property in 1866, and after spending two years in the territories of Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Colorado, he returned here and has prosecuted his present industries successfully since. In 1871 he was married to Miss Mary Pounds, who was born and reared in Mason County, Ill. They have one son, Samuel C. (From Andreas' "History of the State of Nebraska")
