Brice H. Swicegood, 87, lifelong resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, died September 14, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Born April 21, 1923 in Colcord, Oklahoma, he was the son of Lemuel L. Swicegood and Shabie Alice Brazil Swicegood. He was a graduate of Colcord High School and an army Veteran of World War II. He was a dairy farmer and a carpenter. Brice married Doris Brown on October 21, 2006, in Colcord. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Engleman Swicegood; four brothers, Lee Swicegood, Walter Swicegood, Russell Swicegood, and Boyd Swicegood; and three sisters, Ada Callis, Maude Beck and Ruby Godwin.
Survivors include his wife Doris of the home; four sons, Leon Swicegood and wife Angela of Wheeler, Arkansas, Rick Swicegood and wife Diana of Jay, Oklahoma, Doyle Swicegood and wife Angie and David Swicegood and wife Terri, all of Colcord, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Swicegood, Levi Swicegood, Zack Swicegood, Shawn Hough, Jake Swicegood, Justin Swicegood, and Jason Swicegood. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Swicegood and Gabe Swicegood.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2010, at the Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Oklahoma, with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery, near Colcord. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
