Services Held At Alexis For S.K. Beard

S. Keyon Beard, 69 of 514 Acorn St., Kewanee, died unexpectedly at his home Dec. 13. Funeral services were held at the McKnight Funeral Home, Alexis, Wednesday with burial in Viola cemetery.
He was the son of Charles and Harriet Mohler Beard of Viola and was married to the former Clara Edna Glances of Viola.
Mr. Beard, who was a veteran of World War I, was retired from the Kewanee Boiler Co, where he was employed as a crane operator for 42 years.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Harriett McLaughlin of Ladd, Ill.; and a niece, Mrs. H. W. Weber northwest of Aledo, also several other nieces and nephews.

Viola—S. Keynan Beard, 68, a former Viola resident was found dead last night at his home in Kewanee, following an apparent heart attack.
The body was taken to the McKnight Chapel in Alexis where arrangements are pending.
Mr. Beard retired recently after being employed as a crane operator for 42 years at the Kewanee Boiler Works.
Mrs. Beard died several years ago.
Survivors include a sister Mrs. Lizzie McLaughlin of Ladd, Ill and several nieces and nephews.
