Sarah Branscome McAlexander, 91, of Laurel Fork, passed away Saturday, April 15, 1995 at Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, Va.

Born April 24, 1903 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Perry Branscome and Mary Ruth Dickerson Branscome.

Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rogene and Delmon Nester of Laurel Fork; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Willadean McAlexander of Meadows of Dan, Va., Elmo and Eunafaye McAlexander of Laurel Fork; one sister-in-law, Emma Branscome of Roanoke; six grandchildren, David Nester, Sue Perigen, Patsy Harrell, Debra Nester, Benton McAlexander, Janice McAlexander; five great-grandchildren; special friends, Frances Poteot and Lucille Spangler.

She was the widow of the late Dennis Lee McAlexander.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 1995 with the Elder Carbin Vass and Elder Joe H. McGrady officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pine View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends fr om 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Va.
