Mercy Meigs, affectionately called Marcy, dau. of Ebenezer Meigs and Mercy Weeks (William,2 William,1), b. of record Dec. 11, 1705 at Guilford, Conn. She d. Jan. 3, 1788 at Falmouth, Mass., aged 83.

Mercy's father died before she was 6-1/2 years old. While she and her then living mother are included in the May 30, 1712 will of her paternal grandfather, Dea. John Meigs, Jr. of Guilford, the subsequent fate of her mother is currently unknown. Ultimately Mercy and her four siblings relocated from Guilford to greater Falmouth, Mass. near their extended maternal family.

On an unknown date prior to 1730, Mercy m. 1) her cousin John Weeks, s. of William Weeks (John,2 William,1) and Mehitable Hatch (Jonathan,2-1), b. Apr. 25, 1706 at Falmouth. He d. bef. August 7, 1730 when his father was appointed administratrix of his estate (Barnstable PR 5:50). There was one known child of the marriage:

• Thankful Weeks, b. July 10, 1730 at Falmouth, where she d. Feb. 8, 1817; m. Mar. 24, 1747/8 at Falmouth, Solomon Davis, s. of Jabez Davis and Anna Dimock (q.v.). He was b. May 30, 1720 at Falmouth where he d. Dec. 1, 1803. Ten children of the family.

On June 25, 1733 at Falmouth, the widow Mercy (Meigs) Weeks m. 2) Noah Davis, s. of John and Hannah Davis. He was b. July 18, 1707 at Falmouth where he d. July 25, 1787, aged 81. Five children of the marriage recorded at Falmouth who are (will be) summarized in their father's memorial.
