General Thomas Brown, s/o George and Elizabeth (Bright) Brown, was married first to Sarah (Bartram) Brown with whom he had three daughters, all of whom died young. Thomas' second wife was Lucy (Bradley) Brown with whom he had six children: Mary (wife of Alexander Miller); Arthur; Thomas B. (husband of Eliza Purdy and Sophia Smith); John B. (husband of Rebecca Bernard); an infant daughter; and Lucy A. (wife of Gov. John Owen) Brown.

Major General Thomas Brown, Departed this life on the 24th of November A. D. 1814 in the 67th year of his age. This Memorial is a tribute of affection and respect by his widow and children.
