Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, he was a left wing becoming a professional when he joined the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association on 1920. For eleven seasons, he played in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers (1926-36) and Boston Bruins in 1937. Over the coarse of his career, he had a record of 144 assist, 158 goals and 302 points. After his playing time, he went on to a highly successful career as a coach in the American Hockey League with Providence and Cleveland. He led his teams to the playoffs in 18 0f 19 seasons, won seven league championships, the most championship wins by a coach in the history of the AHL and finished with a record 636 coaching wins the most in AHL history. He died at the age of 84 in Kingston, Ontario and was posthumously inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995.
