HELLER.
At 11 o’clock Thursday night occurred the death of one of Scott county’s oldest inhabitants. At that time, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Josiah Figley, about a mile north of Dixon, he passed away as a result of a complication of diseases.
Deceased came to Scott county in 1836, settling near Dixon on a farm which he afterwards sold and for a time ran a mill at Toronto, a small place beyond Dixon. The mill venture was not a success, and he afterwards moved back to Dixon and went to live with his daughter, at whose home he died. Mr. Heller was twice married, and both of his wives have died. Several children are still living, however, to mourn his death. Deceased was widely known throughout the northern end of the county, and was highly respected.
