All of the info on this family was obtained from the Anderson P King and the Robert Hailey King family bibles and from gravestones in the Greenwood Cemetery near Savoy, Texas and in the cemetery at Whitewright, Tx. The James Emory Christian family records supplied information concerning that family.

James Ray Andrews:
MARY ELIZABETH ANDREWS - This daughter of Varney Andrews, Jr., was born 7-23-1843 and died 11-13-1918. She married Anderson Persus King, September 4, 1860. Anderson King was born in Tennessee in 1832 and died in Grayson County, Texas, in 1918. His parents were Robert Elmer King, Sr. (1795 Sumner, TN - 3/25/1840 Sumner, TN) and Nancy J Walker (12/14/1803 Sumner, TN - 7/8/1841 Sumner, TN).

Their Children:

1. Edgar A King (1861 Grayson Conty, Texas –1893 Whitewright, Grayson, Texas). Married Mary Elizabeth Ray (18 DEC 1867 Bedford, Tennessee - 01 APR 1955 Sherman, Grayson, Texas)

2. Nannie L. King (7 MAY 1863 Sumner, Tennessee - ____)

3. Lula Belle King (9/11/1864–5/24/1943). Married 12-28-1882 in Grayson County, Texas Robert Haile King (1852–1897) and they had the following children: Mary Lucas King (1883–1981); Willie May King (1885–1964); Robert Hailey King Jr (1888–1967); Lou Bel King (1893–1978) and Earl King (1897–1904). She then married William Pascall Vaughn (1870–1942) and they had a child Katherine Vaughn (1905–1990)

4. Samuel C. King (Abt. 1867 Grayson County, Texas –1899). On December 18, 1894, he married Vinnie Mahala Bynum (1874–1964) and they had the following children: Lewis Bynum King (1896–____); Roy King (1898–____); Edgar A King (1901–1962); Lola King (1904–____) and Theodore King (1905–____).

5. Joseph Anderson King (16 MAY 1869 Tom Bean, Grayson, TX - 22 DEC 1956 Sherman, Grayson, Texas). On September 22, 1889, he married his brother Edgar's widow Mary Elizabeth Ray (1867–1955) and they had the following children: Mack Ray King (1891–1976); Annie Aline King (1894–1996); May King (1896–1994); Sallie Jo King (1898–____); Albert Lee King (1901–____); Flora Bell King (1904–1987) and Eva Elizabeth King (1907–1976)

6. Robert Varney King (19 SEP 1871 Texas - 09 JAN 1944 Dallas, Dallas, Texas). On July 7. 1892, in Tennat ME, he married Maud L Kalee (1873–____). Then in 1900 he married Merta King (1876–1901). Then in 1905 in Texas, He married Ida L King (1877–____) and they had the following children: Alvin G Juster (1900–____); Newton A Juster (1902–____); Mildred Juster / King (1906–____).

7. Rufus Alvin King (12/14/1875 Texas – 10/22/1931 Dallas, TX). On 4 Dec 1898 in Fannin, Texas, he married Molly Z. Lemmon (1880–1938) and they had the following children: William J King (1899–____); Waldo Ben King (1903–1961); Jewel King (1908–____); Robert B King (1909–____); Tom O King (1914–____); Martine Mary King (1915–2002) and one other daughter.

Following the death 1-15-1897 of her first husband, Robert Bailey King, Lulu Bell King married 11-20-1902, William Pascal Vaughn of Grayson County, Texas. William Pascal Vaughn was born 4-24-1870, died 4-28-1942.

To this union was born:
Katherine Vaughn, b. 8-1-1905, m. 10-3-1926 to James Emory Christian.
