Mr. Sterling, a retired carpenter, died at 5 p.m. Sunday in Southwest General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 17, 1906, he was a native of Amite County.
Survivors include one son, Robert William Sterling, Dallas, Tex.; one brother, Samuel K. Sterling, Independence, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Zedora Heltz, Hammond, La.; Mrs. Mary Nellie Sterling, New Orleans, La.
Burial will be in the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery near Liberty. Hartman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
